Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 March 2026
TestIn AI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our no-code browser test automation platform at dashboard.testinai.com and our Chrome extension.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth with bcrypt hashing). We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment details during the beta period.
Test Data
To provide the service, we store the following data you create:
- Project names and descriptions
- Recorded test steps (clicks, inputs, navigation URLs, keyboard actions)
- Test run results and step-by-step execution logs
- Failure screenshots captured during test execution
- Visual regression baseline screenshots
- API keys you generate for CI/CD integration
Usage Data
We automatically collect basic usage information including browser type, IP address, pages visited, and actions performed within the platform. This is used solely to improve the service and diagnose issues.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the TestIn AI platform
- To execute your recorded tests using our Playwright-based runner
- To send you account-related emails (verification, password reset, run failure notifications if enabled)
- To enforce plan limits (projects, tests, monthly runs) appropriate to your subscription tier
- To diagnose technical issues and improve the reliability of the service
- To communicate product updates, new features, or important service announcements
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or test data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. We use the following security measures:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Authentication is handled by Supabase with secure JWT-based sessions
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
- API keys are hashed before storage and shown only once upon creation
- Database access is restricted to authorised backend services only
4. Chrome Extension
The TestIn AI Chrome extension operates as follows:
- It records your interactions (clicks, inputs, navigation) on pages you actively choose to test
- It does not run in the background on pages outside of an active recording session
- Recorded steps are transmitted to the TestIn AI backend over HTTPS and associated with your account
- The extension stores your authentication token in Chrome's local storage to maintain your session
- We do not collect browsing history, passwords entered on third-party sites, or any data from pages you are not actively recording
5. Third-Party Services
- Supabase — Authentication and database infrastructure. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Playwright (Microsoft) — Open-source browser automation library used to replay your recorded tests on our servers. No data is sent to Microsoft.

6. Data Retention
